About Aurignacian Paleo Paganism:
Aurignacian Paleo Paganism is a reconstructive form of paleo paganism (re)Founded by myself in the year 2021 in an attempt to reconstruct and revive the belief systems of people in Aurignacian Western Europe starting from 35,000~ years ago
About the gods
When I was 15 years old I was a proud atheist but thought to myself one day; "if any God out there exists, it is the one depicted in The Lion man statuette." And from then on I felt a presence in the back of my mind that I would come to know as the brother, eventually followed by several other gods who were once worshiped in Western and Central Europe tens of thousands of years ago.
I am constantly learning more about the gods, their histories, and existence itself and I will do my best to keep this website updated with my current knowledge although there will likely be some mistakes and misconceptions made along the way. For the first few years of my faith I could only make determinations based on gut feelings, but a few years ago I started practicing divination, specifically a method typical of bone throwing (although I use paint brushes and a crested porcupine quill.) which allows me to get yes or no answers to questions I ask the Gods.
In my belief humanity was not created by the Gods, instead the inherent sacredness of humanity's sapienice allowed for our belief to take shape into the gods we know and love today, and gods of the past that have long been forgotten. Not every God and Pantheon that people today and in the past have worshiped exists, but many of them do. The Aurignacian gods take the form of humans with the heads and sometimes tails of various animals, some of the Gods I know nothing about aside from their species and others I have come to form a bond with.
The primary gods consist of:
The father, the Caribou headed patriarch of the Gods, who believes that the structure of Faith needs to evolve just as humans have over the past 300,000 years of our existence.
The mother, the she-wolf headed goddess of fire, a believer in preserving tradition through all means necessary.
The sister, the Arctic Vixen headed goddess of death, a calm and relaxed figure that can at first seem as cold as the harsh European Winters that she had adapted for, but can prove a faithful mentor.
The brother, the Cave lion headed God of storms, I am incredibly close with him as he is the first deity that approached me. Best known from The Lion man statuette.
The aunt, the spotted mare headed goddess of hallucinogens
The next Deity I will not speak the true name of to say his name is to call upon him and he can deeply be a being you do not want to mess with. Best known from "the sorcerer" carving. Has the head of a falcon
And The Bard, The Raven headed god of music and storytelling, best known from a cave painting depicting a man with the head of a bird.
I know significantly less about the secondary gods aside from their species, but I will give what information I have here:
The grandparent, the brown bear headed God of dreams and visions
The mammoth headed goddess of pregnancy, childbirth, and reproduction
The stone Marten headed God
The pheasant headed god
The boar headed God
The golden jackal headed God
The leopard headed God
The Irish elk headed God
The Pika headed God
The aurochs headed God
the homoetherium (sabertooth cat) headed God, the first God of the pantheon to exist, at some point their form was shattered and each of the shards became the rest of the Gods in the pantheon. They currently exist in the form of an Earthbound Spirit named Gef famous for haunting a farmhouse on the Isle of man in the 1930s.
The hyena headed God, the first piece to be shattered off of the sabertooth God, at one point took their Earthbound Spirit form as a consort
